THE INTERNATIONAL EXECUTIVE BOARD
What is the FarmHouse International Board?
This Board is composed of eight alumni members who are elected for 4-year terms at the Biennial Conclave by chapter and association delegates. Two undergrad representatives also serve on the Board, along with the Executive Director as an ex-officio member. The Board is charged with creating the organization's vision/goals, hiring/evaluating the Fraternity's executive director, setting policy and ensuring policies are followed, approving budgets and ensuring fiscal soundness and serving as a resource for chapters and associations. It became an International Board with the chartering of Alberta in 1974.

"During my tenure as an undergraduate member of FarmHouse, I was under the impression that those four years would be the most memorable of my fraternal experience. I have learned over the years however that the scope and importance of my membership in this special fraternity has only grown through the years. I continually have the opportunity to develop new friendships and experiences with brothers, and can honestly say that the more I try to give back to the fraternity, the more I receive in return."

"Even my parents agree, FarmHouse made me a better man. As the first child to head to college, it was difficult for mom and dad to see me off and of course, I knew little about which path to take or what to expect. FarmHouse settled my parent’s nerves and provided me a healthy environment to live, study and grow sounded by a whole series of capable mentors. The Fraternity helped me to navigate difficult decisions, giving me the able to make the experience my own, but all under the watchful eye of my brothers, a wonderful housemother, and involved alumni. I am not sure that without out FarmHouse my grades would have been as strong, my experience would have been as well rounded, my time would have been sent on such valuable projects, or my end result would have been as fortunate. The best part is, when I graduated, the experience didn’t stop as some might think. Today, the Fraternity still helps me chart my path – connecting me to thousands of brothers and resources, helping me make tangible my passions, and best of all, calling to mark each step with progress."

" When I was a junior at NM State, I moved into FarmHouse just looking for a room...Oh, and I had to join the fraternity too. In my mind, the word fraternity ginned up images of boys in togas trying to consume all the alcohol available in as short as time as possible. I'd already had lived that life my first two semesters, and I figured I'd stay in the house just until a dorm or an apartment became available, and I'd be done with the fraternity. As I learned what FarmHouse was about, my interest was peaked, but still didn't want much to do with the fraternity. As the semester drew on, I saw how the brainchild of seven Missouri men (at that time, almost 90 years beforehand) was put into practice for the men at NM State. Pretty soon, my neighbors became my friends, and a semester later, they became my brothers. All of a sudden "Fraternity" had a whole new meaning...not a group of friends, not a college club, but a way of life. In the years since, I've had the opportunity to meet these men who were and are such a positive influence to the people and the world around them. For me, being on the FarmHouse International Board is part selfish and part service. Service in return for the lessons and blessings I've received from those influential FarmHouse men. And selfish, because I'm hoping that being around men of this quality more often will hopefully get me closer to the man God made me to be. We'll see if it worked in four years. :)" |

"Joining the Alpha Tau Zeta/Ohio State Chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity was one of the best decisions I made as an undergraduate. It allowed me to focus on scholarship, build lifelong friendships, develop as an individual who respects others, and understand the intangible rewards of service. As an alumnus, there's no other place I'd rather sacrifice time, pleasure or comforts to contribute to its continuous success."

"I joined FarmHouse for the same reasons most men join fraternities. I was new to Texas A&M and was looking to quickly find a group of friends that shared my values and interests. Like many fraternities FarmHouse was a social fraternity but what made FarmHouse unique was that the "social aspect" wasn't the only thing FarmHouse focused on. FarmHouse focuses on other things, things like my academics and my spiritual walk. That's why I chose FarmHouse. It was only after leaving the FarmHouse and school did I realize the business education I received. Where else in college are young men given the opportunity to manage large budgets and run a branch of a larger franchise? Where else are you going to have the opportunity to lead and manage 50 of your peers? There is no doubt FarmHouse built me socially and that FarmHouse built me spiritually. What is most surprising to me was that FarmHouse built me professionally, providing me an experience that I rely on each and every day in my career and in the interactions I have with colleagues, the community and my FarmHouse brothers."

"As I look back, I can see that FarmHouse has influenced my life in so many ways. I joined during the junior year of my undergraduate career because I respected the men in our local church group, and I wanted to enjoy the rest of my college career while making some friends in the process. FarmHouse became so much more than that. I feel that I was encouraged and built up by my brothers and am a better person, husband, friend, and brother today from my involvement in FarmHouse. FarmHouse teaches a way of living that involves a lifelong commitment of building men - not only at Texas Tech, but to everyone that I meet. The lifelong friendships that I made continue to keep me accountable to serve God and man. I would gladly give of my time and talents to serve the brotherhood; and therefore, I gladly accept my responsibility and the honor to serve FarmHouse on the International Board." |

"When I joined FarmHouse in 1992 I don't think I realized how important the experience would be for me and how it would affect me for my lifetime. The four-fold development aspect; intellectual, social/moral, physical, and spiritual is a way in which I strive to live my life, even today. I have always enjoyed having intellectual conversations with my brothers, participating in social and physical activities, and having others to share my spiritual values with. What I don't think I fully understood as an active member is that FarmHouse "Object" was designed to assist me in my development throughout my lifetime and I am thankful to our founders for their insight in developing a fraternity around these core values. I enjoyed being the best new member, active, and now alumni that I can be for FarmHouse. In addition, I have enjoyed being a small part in chartering a new fraternity as well as serving on the International Board. I hope that my leadership contributions will continue to aid FarmHouse in living up to our founding values as we continue to build men for many more years to come."

"Little did I know the day I accepted my bid to become a member of FarmHouse Fraternity at the University of Kentucky that it would go on to have such a huge impact on my life. My educational pursuits, civic activities, community service, and professional career have and continue to be influenced through the support and guidance of FarmHouse men who have joined our great brotherhood. Most importantly, the friendships that I have made while being a member will last for a lifetime. FarmHouse Fraternity is and always will be a huge part of who I am. I can think of no better way to give back to our brotherhood then by inspiring current and future FarmHouse brothers to realize their full potential, seek out new challenges, and never settle for less from yourself than the absolute best you can be.

"FarmHouse is way more than just a place to live for a couple of years during college. The opportnities and experiences are endeless. To me, FarmHouse is a home away from home, and then some. You are able to create life long brotherhood bonds and meet some of the most hardworking and dedicated individuals on your campus, and nationwide. The men of this fraternity are always there for you whether it be to help, listen, talk, or just hangout. It's true what they say, you can always count a friend in FarmHouse.

"Joining my FarmHouse chapter at Ohio State has given me the opportunity to learn a great deal about myself and make many lifelong friendships along the way. FarmHouse Fraternity provides an environment where men of shared values and common goals may live, learn, and develop together. Our fraternity provides an educational experience like no other group on college campuses!"
